What is ParaVault AI
ParaVault AI is the Command Center for a swarm of specialized AI workers that research law, draft and review legal documents, and — in its second profile — write and refine code. Every request you submit is broken into a compiled plan of deterministic and AI-driven steps: search results are ranked before an answer is drafted, citations are independently verified against real legal databases before they reach you, and a running audit trail records who approved what. Nothing you see on screen is generated in one uncontrolled pass.
Two deployment profiles. Your organization runs ParaVault AI in one of two modes, and the tab bar automatically shows only what applies to you:
| Profile | What you get | Hidden tabs |
|---|---|---|
| Research | The full Paralegal Suite, Search, and Web Scraper. | SDLC, Project Files |
| SDLC | Code generation, architecture review, style enforcement, refactoring. | Search, Web Scraper |
If a tab described in this guide doesn't appear for you, your deployment simply runs the other profile — this is expected, not a missing feature.
Getting Started
Sign in
Enter the username and password your administrator created for you and select Sign In. Your session stays active for 24 hours.
Enter your email code, if prompted
If your administrator has turned on two-factor authentication for your account, a 6-digit code is emailed to you the moment you sign in. It expires after 5 minutes and can only be used once — enter it in the field that appears below the password box.
Choose or create a project
Every tab keeps its own project/file context in the left-hand panel. Global is the default shared project everyone starts in — create a new one with the + button next to "Project Context" when you want a private, access-controlled workspace for a specific matter or codebase.
Pick a task type and go
Select a tab, choose the specific tool from any mode dropdown, type your request, and submit. Progress streams in live in the results pane, and the 🔬 Pipeline button opens a real-time view of exactly which step is running.
Interface Tour
Header
The header always shows your signed-in role, a connection status badge (GATEWAY: CONNECTED means you're live), a memory meter for the current conversation, and + New Chat to clear context and start fresh without signing out.
Tab Bar
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| ⚖️ Paralegal | All legal-research and document-drafting tools. See the Paralegal Suite section below. |
| 🔍 Search | General web and deep-research search, independent of a legal matter. |
| 🕸️ Web Scraper | Fetch and extract structured content from a specific URL. |
| 📁 Project Files | Browse, upload, and manage source files for an SDLC project. |
| ⚙️ SDLC | Code generation, architecture planning, and automated style enforcement. |
| 🔗 Audit Ledger | The tamper-evident history of every decision made on a task. |
Most panes follow the same three-column shape: a project/file list on the far left, an intake form across the top of the main pane, and a results/history pane below it that streams live as your task runs.
The Paralegal Suite
Every Paralegal tool is selected from the mode dropdown at the top of the ⚖️ Paralegal tab. Some tools ask you to confirm a short, structured summary of your request before any expensive research runs — this is the refine-approval gate, and it exists so you can correct a misunderstanding before the AI spends time (and search budget) acting on it.
⚖️ Legal Research Agent
Produces a full IRAC-format legal memorandum — Question Presented, Brief Answer, Discussion, and Conclusion — grounded in federal and Florida law, with every citation independently checked before it reaches you.
- Describe your situation in plain language in the intake box.
- Review and confirm (or edit) the structured legal intake summary the system produces.
- The agent searches federal statutes, the U.S. Code, CFR, court opinions, Florida Statutes, and Florida Administrative Code, then ranks the results for relevance.
- A memo is drafted, and every citation in it is checked against the real source text — a mismatch sends the memo back for a rewrite automatically, before you ever see it.
- The finished memo shows a status badge next to every citation.
| Citation badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| [Verified] | Confirmed to exist and matches how the memo characterizes it. |
| [Unverified] | Could not be checked against an available source — confirm it yourself before relying on it. |
| [Overruled] | A real case that later negative treatment has undermined — shown in red so it can't be missed. |
| [Format: …] | The citation exists but its Bluebook formatting has an issue. |
Human citation review
Every citation also links to the document it came from. Open it, confirm whether the citation is accurate, and leave an optional comment — your verdict is saved to the matter's permanent record and stays visible even after the memo is exported or the session is reopened later.
Use Export PDF or Export DOCX at the bottom of a finished memo for a court-formatted copy (Times New Roman, standard margins) — both exports carry your citation review notes along with the memo text.
🏛️ Law Specialist
A faster, narrower tool than the full Legal Research Agent: it searches U.S. Code, CFR, Public Laws, federal court opinions, Florida Statutes, and Florida Administrative Code and returns ranked, sourced results without drafting a full memorandum. Use it when you need to quickly locate authority rather than produce a deliverable document.
📄 Document Redline
Upload two versions of a document (PDF or DOCX) and receive a structural comparison — every addition, deletion, and change — along with a plain-language explanation of the likely legal effect of each change. Useful for contract redlines, amended pleadings, or any document that has gone through a revision cycle.
📋 Form & Questionnaire Extraction
Turns a scanned or messy intake sheet, financial affidavit, or agency form into clean, structured, exportable data.
- Define the fields you need — type them in, upload a spreadsheet, or reuse a saved schema from a prior matter.
- Confirm the field list before the (potentially slow) scan runs.
- Documents are read with on-premises text recognition — nothing is sent to an outside OCR vendor.
- Every extracted field is scored High, Medium, or Low confidence, and low-confidence fields are always flagged for your review.
- Contradicting values across the same form (e.g. a stated income that doesn't match an asset schedule) are flagged automatically.
Export the results as CSV, or pre-fill an uploaded .docx
template directly with the extracted values.
💬 Plain-Language Client Communication
Upload a legal document and receive a client-ready explanation in plain English — useful for preparing a client letter or briefing before a call, without asking you to translate dense legal drafting yourself.
📅 Procedural Checklist & Deadline Calculator
Describe a triggering event (service of process, a filed motion, an order) and
receive a calculated checklist of every procedural deadline that follows from it.
Results can be exported directly as a calendar file (.ics)
for import into Outlook, Google Calendar, or any standard calendar app.
📚 Table of Authorities Generator
Upload a single brief and receive a standard court Table of Authorities: every case, statute, and regulation cited in the brief, deduplicated, format-checked, and sorted into the standard sections with every page it appears on.
🗂️ Case Folder
A Case Folder is a persistent collection of every document related to one matter. Once documents are added, the other three Case Folder tools work across the whole set without re-uploading anything.
| Mode | What it does |
|---|---|
| Add Document(s) | Ingests one or more files into the folder and extracts key entities and dates for the tools below. |
| Ask a Question | Answers a question against every document in the folder at once. |
| Audit Consistency | Flags places where two documents in the folder disagree with each other. |
| Chronology | Builds one sorted timeline of every dated event across the whole folder, flagging date conflicts between documents. |
🔍 Search
General-purpose web and deep-research search for questions that aren't tied to a specific legal matter. Choose a standard search for a quick, sourced answer, or a deep search when a topic needs synthesis across many sources. Every answer lists its sources with links back to the original page.
🕸️ Web Scraper
Give it a specific URL and it fetches the page and extracts its readable content — including pages that require JavaScript rendering to display properly. It does not bypass a genuine login wall or paywall; it only recovers content blocked by bot-detection or client-side rendering.
📁 Project Files
Browse and manage the source files attached to an SDLC project — upload files here so the SDLC tab's code-generation and review tools have the right context to work against.
⚙️ SDLC Style & Refactor
Tools for generating, reviewing, and cleaning up code. Two tools are worth understanding as deliberately separate:
- Refactor / decompose — changes structure only. Behavior before and after is guaranteed identical.
- Style-guide enforcement — a separate, later pass that reformats code to your project's style guide (naming, spacing, documentation) without altering what it does. Paste a snippet or upload a whole file — a whole file is automatically split so nothing is silently truncated by dropping it in one piece.
Projects & Access Control
Every project you create has exactly one owner and an access list, enforced by the server — not just hidden in the interface. Click the 🔒 icon next to any project's name to manage it.
- The person who creates a project becomes its owner automatically.
- As owner, you can grant access to specific colleagues, or transfer ownership entirely.
- If you only have access (not ownership), the same dialog shows a read-only list of who can see the project.
- Granting access to a top-level project extends automatically to everything created under it later.
Global is the one exception — it's the shared default project every user starts in and is never lockable. Use a dedicated project instead of Global whenever a matter needs to stay private.
🔗 Audit Ledger
A tamper-evident record of every meaningful decision made on a task — approvals, rejections, citation reviews, and any point where a person overrode a system output. Open it from the task's Mission Inspector view to see the full history, including actions taken after a session has been closed and reopened later.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
The status badge shows "GATEWAY: DISCONNECTED"
Your session may have expired, or the server address configured for this browser may be wrong. Try signing out and back in; if the problem persists, confirm the gateway address with your administrator.
A citation shows [Unverified] instead of [Verified]
This is not necessarily wrong — it means the automatic check could not confirm it against an available source (for example, a case behind a rate-limited external database). Confirm it yourself before relying on it, and consider leaving a citation review note once you have.
A tool I expect to see is missing from the tab bar
Your deployment runs in either the Research or SDLC profile (see Overview) — each profile deliberately hides the tools that don't apply to it.
I didn't receive my 2FA email code
Check your spam folder — the code expires after 5 minutes and can only be used once, so request a fresh sign-in attempt if it has lapsed. If codes never arrive, ask your administrator to confirm your email address is on file.
Where did my conversation context go?
Selecting + New Chat intentionally clears context so the next task starts clean. The memory meter in the header shows how much of the current conversation's context is in use before that point.
Disclaimers
Output from the Legal Research Agent and every other Paralegal tool is legal information, not legal advice, and does not constitute Shepardizing or formal citation validation of the kind a licensed attorney is required to perform. Federal and Florida sources are covered; law from other jurisdictions is out of scope unless explicitly noted in a result. Always confirm citations marked [Unverified] independently, and use professional judgment before relying on any generated document in practice.
